Anniversary

It has been one year since my very happy wedding day. Sam and I went to Noosaville for the weekend and stayed at a very lovely placed called Cocos Bay Resort. The weather was very hot, but it reminded me of the weather at our wedding. We had a very relaxing time. We even got our Christmas shopping done while we were there.

I managed to convince Sam that it would be fun to go see the markets and if we are lucky we might get some Christmas presents. We got there and were amazed at how big it was. There are some really talented local people and we managed to buy everyone a present that we both really liked and it made us feel real good to be supporting the local artists. I would have loved to buy more then what we did for myself, but I stayed in the Christmas spirit and was satified with giving presents.

We left Sunday morning and spent part of the day at Redcliffe beach, it was very windy, but enjoyable. When we got home we opened the bottle of wine that we saved from our honeymoon and watched our wedding video and looked at some photos. It was great remembering. We had an awesome time and was reminded of how lucky we are to have family and friends who care and love us and who are there to support us in our life together.

God Bless

Wedding

Wedding

On 6th December 2008 I had the privilege of getting married to a wonderful man. Admittedly, i was very nervous and the night before I shed a few nervous tears, but i was surrounded by my family and really good friends and they supported me and they just let me tear. I had such a great support network! On the day of the wedding i was a bit nervous but i was calm and collected. (Thank God). Once i stepped into the church I could feel love and happiness radiating off of everyone inside the church, the setup and decorations of the church was very overwhelming. It is a very difficult feeling to describe and one that can only be experienced. Everything went smoothly and according to plan, with some minor hiccups that made it all the more enjoyable.

One instance I have to tell that made me crack up during the service. Sam and I have the same rings except mine is thinner then his. When it came time to place the rings on each others fingers. Sam had picked up the his ring to put on my finger. I whispered to him that it was the wrong ring and that the other one was mine. He disagreed with me and we said the vows thing and when it came time to put the ring on all the way it didn't fit and i just cracked up laughing. It is really hard to contain composure when i was very nervous, but we continued like nothing happened. We swapped the rings before we signed the marriage certificate. Later when we were taking photos in front of the church our minister approached me and said that it was the most funniest thing that has every happened when conducting a wedding.

It was the hottest day ever in Australia and we were getting our photos done at Roma st Parklands and there is hardly and shade, with such a massive wedding dress and the guys having a three piece suit every one was extremely hot and sun burnt when we arrived at the reception. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. I was worrying that all the bits and pieces that we organised together over the past couple of years wouldn't come together, but what a waste of time worrying of such a thing. It was a fabulous time and i would not change it for the world.
