U.S of A

Three weeks in the United States it is sure good to be home. I had a wonderful time in America, visiting family that i haven't seen in three years. It is amazing how quickly children grow up. I have such wonderful cousins. Every moment with them was great. I am disappointed that i am not around to watch them grow up into amazing young adults (which i have no doubts that they will.) My family i.e grandfather, Uncles, Aunts and Dad seem to all approve of Sam, which makes me very happy.

I was lucky to be at Mt. Rushmore for the 3rd of July, which they have a spectacular display of fireworks. The dull bit i would have to say was that we had to be there at 9 a.m to watch the fireworks at 9:30 pm or so. On our way to Mt Rushmore we went through the badlands, but our timing could have been better because it was raining. In Rapid City we went to the national park and saw bison, all types of deer and donkeys.... n-e-ways. It was a good drive.

Being American myself i can't help but feeling proud at being so. However The feel at Mt. Rushmore was suppose to be patriotic, however to a foreigner such as my fiance and my sister's husband. It had more of a nationalistic feel. Not to be the one to criticize, but as an American i was sort of embarrassed of the 'we are better then everyone' feel to it. However the fireworks as amazing and having the opportunity to spend all day with my cousins and my Aunt and Uncle was greatly welcomed.

On the 4th of July we were back in Pierre SD to watch the fireworks on the riverbank. This felt like a celebration to remember those of the war. It was more relaxed and enjoyable. Sam and I flew to Texas to be with my dad, step-mom and brother for three days. That was good fun and a wonderful opportunity. My brother is still cute, however somewhat spoiled and stubborn. Oh well. It was overall a fantastic vacation.
