Engagement

Starting from when i had the idea of starting up a different blog, but never really got around to it.

It was when i got engaged. About two years ago now. I was 17 years old. It was a Sunday afternoon. I had just finished teaching Sunday school. I was going to have a lovely day out with Sam. I was sitting on the sofa at my parent's place and i get a text message saying that i should dress nice. Mind you all I knew nothing of his plans because he wanted to surprise me. So i just assumed that we were going somewhere that had a dress code. It turned out that he was taking me to Mt. Cootha for lunch. After I had a nice juicy stake. We went over to admire the view. He asked if wanted to use the telescope so he put a $1 in and put something in front of it. He asked if i could see it. Unfortunately i had no idea what he was talking about and what i was suppose to be seeing. He pulled me gently away from the telescope and knelt down on one knee with the ring in his hand and asked if i would marry him.

I was completely embarrassed and shocked about the scene he was making in public. All i could think about was how was i going to get him to stand up. Of course my mind and heart was racing 100 k/h and all i could think of doing was saying yes.

I know that i was unromantic and smooth about the whole thing, but he handled it well and we are now getting married at the end of this year. I am very excited and cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with a man that takes great care of me.
